I'm in the mood for something very different! How about some safari dining!
Inspired by the color of the orange tulips I chose these dishes and the safari dining began!
Craving color over the past weekend with the blizzard we were about to get I picked these up while gathering supplies the day before the storm hit. I wanted something pretty to look at other than white!
2 years ago I followed along with what turned out to be a very long wait for a now famous giraffe known as April. She eventually gave birth to a male calf named Tajiri (watched on-line by over 1.2 million viewers). They call him Taj for short.
Last summer while visiting in Frankfort, MI I came across a little shop where the owner creates all sorts of glass figurines himself. I picked out this set of Giraffe's in honor of April and Taj. She's now pregnant again and due any time now with a girl! Can't wait to see what they name her!
Though you wouldn't see a seahorse on safari you might if you got a chance to visit the ocean along the coast of West Africa before going on the safari! Either way I love the colors!
The elephant dishes are from World Market.
The Giraffe designed chargers have a lifelike texture to them. I've used them a couple of times before and once just before Taj was born "here". The same placemats were used then too. Fun to see how many ways these table accessories can be used!
I chose these tumblers because they remind me of water falling. Africa and India have a lot of waterfalls!
Susan from Between Naps On The porch went on a safari and visited Giraffe Manor in Kena, Africa and got to dine with Giraffe's! You can see a post about it "here" if you'd like!
I do love flowers!
As you can see through the window our landscape is far from what you'd find on a safari but we can pretend, right? Hmmm.... what are you imagining for the menu?
Thank you for joining me for some Safari Dining!
I'll be joining:

I. love. it! My youngest son's room has a British Empire, Safarii decor scheme. Those plates are really special, I so wish I had a World Market in Pittsburgh. Not that I need or have space to store them, but where did the giraffe print chargers come from?
ReplyDeleteSo fun Liz. I love the tulips and the little glass giraffe is so cute. It all is so pretty and love the colors.

Liz, what a wonderful setting! Count me in, what's for dinner? I love your sweet giraffe and oh my, those tulips are gorgeous!

Well, you pulled off the "anything but white!" challenge. These dishes are such fun and I love the beautiful tulips!
ReplyDeleteLiz, I love your fun and festive table! Your worked magic with the safari theme. The elephant plates from WM are fabulous as are the tulips. Stay warm
ReplyDeleteI love your safari themed table! I have some of those same elephant dishes from World Market, but looking back, I like your table so much better than what I have done with them. The pop of color from the tulips are perfect!
