A Sicilian Luncheon! (T)

Let's take the jet and head over to Sicily for an afternoon luncheon!

Clipped from the garden this morning- fresh flowers would be a must!

Sicilian ceramics known for their vibrant colors and intricate motifs found in their famous Maiolica pottery is the inspiration for the tablecloth design.

Simple chambray blue napkins (I got from Crate & Barrel last year).  Placemats decorated with seashells from a local store a good while back.

The seashore dinnerware (from Pottery Barn) seems like a perfect choice for a luncheon on the island of Sicily 🐟

Topped with a seashore clam plate sets the table beautifully!

My inspiration for the table was this Williams Sonoma tablecloth (found at an outlet).

Some candlelight and wine glasses a must!

Thank you for joining me for a Sicilian Luncheon!

Say a little prayer for Carmen.  She's having some health problems and we're treating her with prednisone.  She's a tiny one and her weight dropped to 5 lb.s 11 oz.  She's 9 1/2 yrs. old and generally healthy but her blood work showed some problems with the digestive track and protein level in her blood.  Hoping this will get her back on track.

  1. I love your tablecloth, Liz. It's so pretty! Lovely setting!

I was in your city last week to celebrate my birthday, visit the asylum, dinner and a ride to the peninsula. Gorgeous day. Thought of you!

  2. Your tablecloth is the perfect foundation for a Sicilian table. Vibrant colors in a bold design says 'summer' to me. Along with the fresh flowers of course, all the better for having been gathered from the garden.
Hoping Carmen comes through just fine. She's at the weight our 16-year-old was at her heaviest (and she whipped the 2 labs into shape, LOL). Within a two week period she dropped to below 5 pounds and we lost her. Still miss her terribly.
Sharing a trick from our vet: cats love the meat varieties of baby/toddler food, particularly the ham and turkey. Easy to eat, easy to digest.

  7. What a most beautiful table Liz...I so love the colors. The tablecloth is truly the star and the items you gathered to bring your Sicilian table together are perfect. Must say that I am partial to the Ralph Lauren jar filled with your beautiful flowers. Hoping that the meds will put sweet Carmen back on track to good health. Have a great weekend Liz!
