I got this corrugated cylinder from Pottery Barn and was going to fill it will fall colored flowers but then I switched up and decided to try up some cotton bolls.
I wrapped this fringed burlap ribbon around it and added some jute twine. The simplicity of the elements go together well.
A created a little vignette on the cheese board using the new metal pumpkin that pairs well nicely with the cylinder. The birds flew in for the show!
I could not get my hands on real ones so I chose these from Pier 1. They did a good job of making them look natural!
Best wishes for a beautiful day!

I so love the cotton bolls in this particular container! I love cotton bolls....I so remember about 25 years ago being in Savannah and seeing a cotton boll wreath for the first time...it was love at first sight...it has since deteriorated! It was a sad day when I had to toss it! Have a great week Liz!
ReplyDeleteYou got a long life out of your wreath! Somebody cleaned out our Michael's and I suspect they were making wreaths.
DeleteI don't have a lot of it but I really love the look of galvanized metal. All of the parts of your vignette are perfect together. And the cotton--so nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lorri- this year the galvanized metal has my attention!
DeleteI love the cotton bolls in the tin. Looks rustic and pretty all at the same time. Happy Tuesday.

I love cotton bolls & your vignette looks great! They look perfect in your tin container.
ReplyDeleteCotton is perfect with your metal container. The cylinder reminds me of a grain bin used for storage, so it's the perfect look for this time of year when we're harvesting grains and cotton. The cotton bolls look much like the real thing but are more full - and how we wish our natural stems look! Cotton isn't that full on a stem in reality, so we can dream a little when looking at yours. What a wonderful pumpkin and fun birds, too! Happy Wednesday. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to find them real stuff up here and then they want a a ton of money for them. I like that connection you made to the grain bins 😊
DeleteVery unique look. The tin is lovely with the cotton bolls.
ReplyDeleteLove that container! Looks great with the burlap and twine around it.
