It's still summer and there is plenty more time to enjoy it! Let's pretend we're at the beach!
My sister Jen created this door or wall hanging from things she got at the Dollar Store.
I decided to build my tablescape around it!
Beach time fun for kids collecting shells while the mom's relax and enjoy some conversation and a light lunch!
I clustered sea shells as part of the arrangement as though we were on the beach.
I used napkins like a blanket you'd toss on the sand for a picnic.
Did you ever chase lightning bugs at night and try to get them in a jar? My mom bought this at least 10 years ago on one of our many mini shopping trips when she'd visit me here up north. I always loved it so eventually she gave it to me 😊 Of course it's cuter in the evening which I'll take a picture of later on.
The napkins and the woven mat came from Sur La Table on a recent visit when we were in Pittsburgh.
These dishes called Floral Medley and are from Pier 1 this year. I've had them displayed on my plate rack and have enjoyed them all summer.
I was trying to find something red in my dishes to pick up on the red sand bucket and finally chose this polka dot dish by 222 Fifth called Home Cupboard.
These nautical rope knot dishes came from Pottery Barn a few years back and they helped to marry these patterns together.
I cut some of my flowers which included Annabelle and Endless Summer Hydrangeas, Orange Santa Cruz Begonias and the purple flower stems came from the Hostas. I dipped the hydrangeas in alum like I've read about to see if they will last longer.
Nice and summery!
I used my MacKenzie Childs Flower Market pitcher but it pretty much disappeared under all the flowers! It was supposed to serve as a water pitcher but it got adopted to hold the flowers!
I wanted the flowers to look casual as though you quickly cut them for a bouquet on the beach. Hydrangeas and summer go together!
Now let's have that lunch!
