Cool Spring Tablescape (T)

I'm so excited to be able to cut some of my own flowers!  The daffodils are in full bloom and there are a bunch of tulips not far behind.

This single tulip stem was ready to open so it's the only tulip I cut- it started opening within 10 minutes of bringing it indoors.  You'll notice the changes in it as we go along in this post.

This is a double white and yellow narcissus (all narcissus fall under the name daffodil) it has a little more opening to do yet.

A very soft and delicate white and yellow daffodil.  I do love the traditional yellow daffodils and would like to plant some of those this fall.

I added these scented candle votives for the smell and little bird accents!

Though not as cool as the other colors I had to have a punch of color!

Another Ralph Lauren tablecloth found at T.J.Maxx called Veranda

I chose the clear glass stemware and the glass pedestal to elevate the flowers and to keep the tone cool.

Notice the tulip has opened quite a bit now!

I thought for sure I was going to be bringing in some purple tulips so I decided to use this Lenox purple salad plate.  Those purple tulips weren't ready but with the busy pattern of the tablecloth I liked how the solid purple grounded the look and continued with the cool color palette.

The tulip is fully open now!

Fresh cut!

Thank you for joining me for this Cool Spring Tablescape!

  1. Lovely, Liz! We were in Chicago last weekend, and it was SO rainy and cold! But the tulips massed along Michigan Avenue were glorious! I couldn't get enough of them. I was glad we didn't miss seeing them this year. Spring is so much later "up north" than here in central Texas! We have uncovered our pool and expect to swim this weekend.

  6. Kind of like watching those Nature shows where the flowers open in a time lapse video! I'm glad you finally got your flowers 🌺 🌷! I noticed my purple iris had fully bloomed when we got back from Colorado, and they make me so happy! I need to plant more in different colors.

  12. I love the contrast of the ornate tablecloth and the simplicity of the flowers. A perfect balance with just the right amount of pop from the tulip. Thanks for showing how to do it well!

  13. You've designed a lovely tablescape with a terrific centerpiece - how nice to be able to cut your own flowers. I gave up planting tulips as the deer ate them every year - going to try daffodils next year.
