I'm so excited to be able to cut some of my own flowers! The daffodils are in full bloom and there are a bunch of tulips not far behind.
This single tulip stem was ready to open so it's the only tulip I cut- it started opening within 10 minutes of bringing it indoors. You'll notice the changes in it as we go along in this post.
This is a double white and yellow narcissus (all narcissus fall under the name daffodil) it has a little more opening to do yet.
A very soft and delicate white and yellow daffodil. I do love the traditional yellow daffodils and would like to plant some of those this fall.
I added these scented candle votives for the smell and little bird accents!
Though not as cool as the other colors I had to have a punch of color!
Another Ralph Lauren tablecloth found at T.J.Maxx called Veranda
I chose the clear glass stemware and the glass pedestal to elevate the flowers and to keep the tone cool.
Notice the tulip has opened quite a bit now!
I thought for sure I was going to be bringing in some purple tulips so I decided to use this Lenox purple salad plate. Those purple tulips weren't ready but with the busy pattern of the tablecloth I liked how the solid purple grounded the look and continued with the cool color palette.
The tulip is fully open now!
Fresh cut!

Lovely, Liz! We were in Chicago last weekend, and it was SO rainy and cold! But the tulips massed along Michigan Avenue were glorious! I couldn't get enough of them. I was glad we didn't miss seeing them this year. Spring is so much later "up north" than here in central Texas! We have uncovered our pool and expect to swim this weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh- That is just lovely, Liz. I can't wait for a few bloomers here. The tulips in one patch are all headed out here though---finally. Love that tablecloth, too. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Liz. It's nothing better than to pick bouquets from our own gardens. You have some lovely daffodils. The table is beautifully set and I especially like the Ralph Lauren tablecloth. Enjoy your Spring! ♥

Kind of like watching those Nature shows where the flowers open in a time lapse video! I'm glad you finally got your flowers 🌺 🌷! I noticed my purple iris had fully bloomed when we got back from Colorado, and they make me so happy! I need to plant more in different colors.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to go outside and be inspired by your garden, and to be able to bring a little piece of that inside is fabulous.I love the paisley table cloth with the striped napkins, pretty table!
ReplyDeleteLovely Liz - our daffodils are long gone in North Carolina. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh your blue table is so lovely! I envy you your gorgeous white daffodils. I think I need to add some for next year. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely tablecloth with all the blue. I would love so much to be able to grow my own flowers, especially ones as pretty as yours.
ReplyDeleteYour daffodils are lovely. The white petals with the pale yellow cups are an extra happy look for a Spring centerpiece.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of the ornate tablecloth and the simplicity of the flowers. A perfect balance with just the right amount of pop from the tulip. Thanks for showing how to do it well!

You've designed a lovely tablescape with a terrific centerpiece - how nice to be able to cut your own flowers. I gave up planting tulips as the deer ate them every year - going to try daffodils next year.
ReplyDeleteA pretty table with your freshly cut flowers. It feel so special to include flowers from your own garden. Love the bird candle. A pretty tablecloth to cover your table is lovely. Love the blue. Happy Saturday.
