I was going to donate this wreath but then I had a second thought about it.
Just a run of the mill grapevine wreath that I picked up at Michael's long ago. I had added a few extra flowers to it but that's it. It's been in the garage a while and forgotten about.
On one of my road trips I found this sign at Hobby Lobby. I like owls and this took my fancy. It kind of has a 70's vibe to it- which I've noticed there's been a trend in that direction. I was going to hang it on the light fixture by the back door as it but then I decided to see if I could work something out with the old wreath.
I played around and decided this was the best spot for it on the wreath for the way I'm using it.
I asked Dan to wire it for me because he's so neat and precise. He made a nice neat loop attaching it in two spots on the front to the grapevine.
The top of the sign wanted to flop forward so I had him wire it in place and I just set the grapevine part of the wreath on the nail to hold it.
I think it's kind of cute and I like how I was able to get a second life out of the wreath.

I think it is cute too. The owl is the special touch. I love remaking something for longer use.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, Your wreath is too cute. Love it and the great welcome from the owl. This can take you right up to Christmas. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLiz, what a nice remake! Your wise old owl looks so sweet perched on the wreath. The colors of the flowers are so Autumnal and look right at home. Dan did a great job wiring everything for you. It always feels good to take what we have and make something beautiful. ♥
ReplyDeleteOH I love it. So pretty and I love the whimsey too.
ReplyDeleteLiz, I LOVE it, the owl was such a great added touch. He's super cute.
