I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear the Son of God discloses
And He Walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
He Speaks, and the sound of His voice is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me within my heart is ringing.
I'd stay in the garden with Him, though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe His voice to me is calling.
God Bless
That song was one of my Dad's favorites and I often played the piano and sang that for him. Also, the Old Rugged Cross and this day makes me think of both of those songs. God bless America and all of us- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love that song too, so perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love that hymn! How tender. Yes, we are so blessed to have peace even in times of trouble. May God continue to watch over us and bless us!

ReplyDeleteMy Nanny loved this hymn, Liz. I couldn't help but think of her when reading this post and realize she was not here but in heaven when 9-11 happened. Please God, help us love one another. ♥
