Summer Nautical In The Kitchen (T)

I've had a desire to do a nautical theme on the plate rack.  A little while back Susan at Between Naps on the porch posted about some dishes at Pottery Barn and I saw these "Nantucket" salad plates and decided I had to have them.

First an overview of the room.

 I couldn't get all four plates from the set on the shelf so I put one down below.

I didn't realize they have two different color bands.  I tried to put them above with the blue striped plates behind them but the center design got lost with the black bar that goes across the front.

I saved the knot ball from my patriotic collection to use here and I added the salt and pepper shakers from PB.  Too cute to pass up.  The tin candle holder is from Sur La Table a couple of years back.

Yesterday when I posted about putting my holiday decorations away I shared this picture that gave me some inspiration for what I wanted to do on my tabletop

Of course I didn't copy it exactly but I was inspired by the idea of a pitcher staged on a stack of plates.  I did add an artichoke like the picture showed!  I decided to keep the star tray out too- such a fun piece! I only found one link that sells this but it's in a set of 5 integrated sizes for $125- The store I was at sold them individually and this was the larger one of the two they had.  I doubt anybody wants five but here is the link Roost Galisteo- copper edge tray.

The plates have a nautical knot design around the edge. 

The striped plates are a favorite of mine but the Compass Rose stemware doesn't show up too well in front of them. 

I would like to find something nautical to hang from the top of the plate as an accent.  I'll probably change this before I find the nautical item!

I had a square table topper that I folded in fourths, pressed it and made it like a runner.  It's actually navy and white.

 The white pitcher had been up on the top shelf of the etagere but I borrowed it for the little side table arrangement so I put my "farmwire" handled basket from Pottery Barn (from a long time ago) up there.  I have a thing for that kind of chicken wire look.

 My little piggy was snorting and in a bit of a fit to get in the picture so I added her to the centerpiece!
