I pulled out all the stops and went full tilt for 4th of July in my kitchen dining area.
I staged these firecrackers with the Liberty and Freedom stars in my red lantern. I got the firecrackers at Pier 1 (and the lantern) and wrapped them with a red ribbon. The Freedom and Liberty stars came from Hobby Lobby…and I have one that says Happiness but I couldn't work it in.
I got the tablecloth at Kohl's and the paisley placemats. They have a heart in the center which is hidden under the plates. These would be cute with a country western scene too! I chose the oblong plates at the last minute when I realized they would fit well on the placemat's design.
The napkin rings are from Pier 1 and the juice glasses came from Crate & Barrel a couple of years ago. I decided on the cups for their color and pattern- thought they were a good mix with the paisley placemats.
The flatware came from Younker's and is by Pfaltzgraff. They were quite the deal and came with a metal stand to serve them in. I got two sets enough for 8 place settings with discounts for around $20.
The sun beamed in nicely and gave me a nice photo op!
I chose to display the tableware on the dish because it kind of disappeared on the table with all the patterns going on. I had the thought that if we wanted to go outside to the patio furniture we could pick this up and go.
I've kept the red white and blue on the plate rack since Memorial Day. I added a few different things as time went on.
The wood tray set up behind the patriotic deco balls in the basket came from T.J. Maxx. It can be hung on the wall but i decided it was better this way especially since this is temporary. The red and blue lanterns will get lit up in the evening with a flameless tea light. The deco balls are from Pier 1 and Kohls. The birds came from Hobby Lobby and the big blue ball from Pier 1.
A little red white and blue here too!
I spotted this galvanized tray with copper edge at a store on one of our weekends trips to Frankfort, MI. This lantern just barely fit in it. I needed something to allow the lantern to be seen better since the tablecloth is so busy.

Liz, your table is a lovely tribute to the red, white and blue. I adore the lantern as it sits on the galvanized star tray. The tablecloth is the perfect background for all of your lovely patriotic pieces.

Yes, you did go all out! I love all your little details. The birds are so sweet and festive. I've kept my plate rack decked out since Memorial Day, too. I may leave it until Labor Day! Great job displaying details on the solid plates so they'd show nicely. It works! I hope you have a wonderful fourth...and catch up on rest from all your "showering". :-)

I bought the tablecloth too as a gift . We went to visit family for the 4th. Was a great hit. So I'm hoping there might be 1 more left for another family member who admired it. And maybe 2 so I can get one for me too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous and patriotic tablescape! I'd love to attend a party at your house :) Thank you for sharing at Dishing It & Digging It this week :)
