We are celebrating our 38th Wedding Anniversary this Friday!
Our daughter came home over the past weekend and surprised us with the cutest cake ever for our anniversary! See the little TC on the back of the car- that's for where we live in Traverse City, and the date of our wedding is the license plate and the highway sign is 38 for this year's anniversary! It's the most adorable cake and makes me smile. This makes me think of us traveling north up here to live and all the times we've shared on the road traveling places.
As soon as I saw it I declared I have to do a tablescape with this! I went into fast action to pull something together before we had dinner and cut into the cake.
I pulled out a few choices and ultimately chose a couple of things with more polka dots that reflected those on the cake. I chose some crystal drinking glasses and silver look flatware to represent things often associated with weddings.
I added a little jewelry to the affair with these red beaded napkin rings and I thought the napkins reminded me of a tuxedo with the contrast of black and white.
Dan and Chelsea had to make a quick trip to the auto store so I had them pick up some red roses to go with the cake.
These are so perfect and I will enjoy them as they continue to open. I stuck artificial baby's breath in there because these didn't come with any filler.
Thank you sweet daughter for commemorating our anniversary this way and to my hubby for sticking with me for 38 years!
She made us cut the cake together…
Though we look so serious only moments later we were laughing!
Though time has changed how we look on the outside- it hasn't changed what's on the inside.
38 Years- hard to believe!

Your beautiful, perfectly-themed tablescape shows just how much you value the meaningful occasion.
