Let There Be Peace On Earth
I know there are many versions of this but my favorite is through the voices of children.
NOEL
Noel- Latin- Birth- Jesus
The first real reason for the season we celebrate.JOY
Wishing you much joy throughout the season! Dig down and find it if you can't feel it- it's a good thing!
14 Days 'til Christmas!
Good Afternoon Liz,
ReplyDeleteThank you for this lovely reminder on the reason we celebrate Christmas and the joy that is all around us. It is so easy to lose sight of the most important things in life, while trying to prepare for the season. Lovely Christmas decorations, your Tree is just stunning.
Merry Christmas,
Jemma
Thanks, Liz, for the lovely inspiration! We sure do need it! Too much turmoil going on everywhere!
ReplyDeleteHey....I'm here! We have that song in common! Let there be Peace on Earth....for sure. It is one of my favorites too! The world is a nutty place right now, and sometimes I want to rewind back to the 1950s when I was a kid and all I wanted was my bicycle and new keds tennis shoes. I guess out pretty parents thought the world was falling apart with rock and roll music and Such. But what we have today really burdens my heart and mind! Sheila
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post, Liz. Sometimes we get too wrapped up in the trappings of Christmas. We can never do enough decorating to outshine the birth of Jesus and all that it means. He is the best gift of all!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog wallpaper. It's very festive!
I always remember what the season is about. I to often that gets lost and it's a shame. When I was a kid I always made my family sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. I started when I was about 5. I remember saying mommy we have to it's his birthday. It became a tradition.

We sang that song too. I have many memories of singing in the choir or doing a play when I was young. Too many people get caught up in decorating and forgetting the true meaning of Christmas. Your lighting looks so pretty, all lit up. I find it so pretty to relax and enjoy the lighting at night.
ReplyDeleteLiz, I once worked with a man we all called Tommy Jesus...because he was always saying'God Bless " as he walked by. Well one day I was having a really bad day..and Tommy came past and said , "God Bless"..for some reason it touched my heart just when I need to be thinking of God. So the next day, I gave Tommy a card that said , "Jesus is the reason for the season". I thought Tommy would cry...so after that I when Tommy would say, "God Bless", I would thank him . So when I think of Christmas...I have to think Jesus is the reason. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThank Liz, what a beautiful post. Yes, I know Jesus is the reason.... But thank you for this lovely reminder.
