I do want to thank Linda from Life and Linda for updating my blog and giving it a new holiday look- she's the best!
I'm not ready to post yet so this is all I'm showing! Sorry about the cheesy iPhone pictures but that's all I've taken for now! I've got to wrap this decorating up this weekend because the mess from all these containers is making me crazy!
I had to change the "Friday Quickies" name to "Friday Quick Notes and Ideas" because some nasty perverted emails came through. I was afraid I was asking for trouble with that name...oh well!
This song has been floating through my head- it's from the movie Home Alone
Somewhere in my Memory
Somewhere in my Memory
Candles in the window
Shadows painting the ceiling
Gazing at the fire glow
Feeling that gingerbread feeling
Precious moments
Special people
Happy faces
I can see
Somewhere in my mem'ry
Christmas joys all around me
Living in my mem'ry
All of the music, all of the magic
All of the fam'ly home here with me
Shadows painting the ceiling
Gazing at the fire glow
Feeling that gingerbread feeling
Precious moments
Special people
Happy faces
I can see
Somewhere in my mem'ry
Christmas joys all around me
Living in my mem'ry
All of the music, all of the magic
All of the fam'ly home here with me
While I've been decorating I've also been watching the news about the shootings in San Bernardino. It's all so sickening. I was thinking about how sad it is that we're approaching this Holy holiday and all these families have just lost their loved ones in such a heinous way. How does one comfort those at this time. Prayers for all of the grieving families and for those who were injured.
Wishing you a great weekend!
I'm with you Liz, this horrible act is upsetting and I don't know how one gets through. The madness has to stop! I get crazy with stuff all over too. I'm finally finished now picture taking begins.
ReplyDeletePeople are gross making something inappropriate with the saying of a post from a blog. Don't they have something more important to do, apparently not

Thanks so much Liz. I was happy to pass along some holiday cheer to your blog. I love using reindeer in my Christmas decor. The tree looks fabulous, the little I can see. Tartan is so popular this year. I am slow getting my Christmas decorating done.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeleteLove your new Christmas look! Linda is so talented, isn't she?
I cringed at the chaos re: your 'quickie' confusion! Glad you got that sorted out!
Yes, the recent tragedies in Paris, Beirut, Mexico, and now St. Bernardino are indeed very, very shocking and sad. Like you, I have thought about the victims and their families and the unbearable pain they are facing at this time of year. Prayers for them.

The blog looks wonderful, Liz!! Love the tartan. Perfect for the season.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful post. It does make one stop and appreciate the things we have. The shootings happened almost too close to home, it's a hop, skip, and a jump from me. So shocking and so terrible.
I had the honor of seeing John Williams in concert a few years ago (you can read about it on my other blog Marvelous Maison), and the excitement in the air was palpable. He is brilliant, isn't he? One of my favorite composers, for certain.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful, heartfelt post.
Liz, I like the music. I love your tartan. I have plaids and checks too. The shooting is so hard to take in..it makes me hurt for those who have lost loved ones or are injured. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, love your holiday blog look and your home decor is so pretty too. Love the plaid ribbon and I have a thing for deer too and been using them at Christmas for several years.
ReplyDeleteYes, prayers for those families in CA and their loved ones!
Have a good weekend and fun decorating! xo
Your blog looks so pretty all dressed in Tartan for the holidays. I was so upset about the recent tragedies that I had to express myself, and then go quiet for a few days. Now we are getting into the decorating, but it does seem like I am mostly going through the motions, not really feeling it.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your Christmas decor in your lovely home. I like your elegant style.
