Designing for Thanksgiving on the Mantel

I've kept the white lanterns on the mantel with the fall leaves attached.  I've carried this look since early fall.

Using a pair of golden pheasants in the center and adding some faux plant material with feathers to represent the woodland floor.

I just wanted something simple with a woodland feeling.  I thought instead of a turkey I'd use pheasants since both turkeys and pheasants are such classic birds of the fall woodland scene.

I'm dreaming up ideas for Christmas and still plan to use the white lanterns again.

Creating a cozy and warm atmosphere is always good at this time of year.

  3. Very pretty Liz. I love pheasants for the fall. I checked out the dishes at Macy's and decided I'm going with Pheasant dishes versus Turkey. Something about pheasants in fall. Don't have any idea where that love came from.

  5. Liz,
Your creative spirit shines through and I like the way you have incorporated the beauty of the elegant pheasant. You know growing up in Idaho we had wild pheasants on the farm and they were always a joy to watch and they are beautiful birds as well.
    Lovely!

  7. Very pretty, Liz. I love your pheasants. I have a pair, I think, but they are much more simple and their heads aren't pretty like yours. Have a happy week!
