Come take a peak inside my lantern!
I found this bird at Pier 1. I can't be sure what bird it's supposed to be but that's ok.
I stuffed a couple of floral pics with berries, leaves and feathers and
stashed a few of these dehydrated pumpkin looking pieces inside with
it.
I got these little LED lights that operate with a remote from Williams Sonoma. They were sold to go inside pumpkins for Halloween. I suggested to hubby that maybe one of these could be hung inside to make a light shine down. So he made a wire frame- glued it along the bottom edge and hung it upside down from the inside.
They've sold out on line but I found some more while snooping on EBay for about the same price as the sale price from Williams Sonoma.
Here's a "link" in case you want some for next year. They have two timer settings and a choice between a flickering light and just on.
This bird has soft blue feathers on it too
I like the woodland look...my theme for this holiday
I changed up the things on the tray. I won that bowl from a blogger a couple of years ago. I did a post on it "here"
I forgot to turn the clock - just pretend it's facing to the right not left!
I'm enjoying this in the evenings.
Over by the recliners I have this cast iron dish that I added some floral pics to and set my woven pumpkin onto it.
I'm keeping things simple since it would be long and I'll be changing up to my Christmas deco. When I got this cast iron urn it was all black. I used some bronze spray paint and lightly highlighted it. Fits in better with my deco.
These chairs get a lot of evening hours on them. That's all I've done in the living room.
Next I'll show you the dining table. I should get another leopard print pillow. This one's supposed to be on the sofa but got displaced by a pet bed!

Very pretty Liz. I don't change my fall décor for Thanksgiving, I leave it. Next year, my goalsd is to buy a few pheasant if I can find nice quality ones. Since this holiday is near the end and my decorating is finished these and pheasant dessert dishes will be my find for next year for sure. I never have found good quality pheasants so that's why I never made the purchase.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention the large candleholder is gorgeous. Have a great day.

Liz,
ReplyDeleteI do believe that your "bird" is a female pheasant.
I adore how you've placed "her" within your lantern!!!
Dan is a genius by placing the light above the bird!!! Fabulous!!!
Love the vignettes for Thanksgiving in your living room, dear friend!!!
Thank you for sharing and inspiring!!!
Fondly,
Pat

So pretty, Liz. It looks like a pheasant to me too, and I love the look of the lantern with the woodland items inside... and especially with the light inside, making it glow!
ReplyDeleteYour bird is gorgeous, especially the way you surrounded it with fall details. The light inside the lantern adds a beautiful touch and makes everything so easy to see. I love it!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. It sets the mood for the evening with the remote light. The pheasant looks great, along with your Fall accessories.

Hi Liz,
ReplyDeleteYour living room looks so lovely all dressed up for fall. I love the two beige armchairs; they look so comfortable and I'd definitely be lounging (and lingering) in them in the evenings, too!
Have a wonderful day!
