On Friday I did a post about Summer's Sunshine- Sunflowers as seen "here"
I think sunflowers are the perfect transition from summer to fall. I'm not ready to let go of summer just yet so I'm transitioning my look with sunflowers. I had a variety of artificial sunflowers in my stock pile and I even had some white ones too! I know the real ones are best but they don't last very long and it would be expensive to keep fresh ones around for the next month or so!
I felt that the white would help keep it summery so I made sure I added enough pops of it.
I swapped out the blue vase for the white milk cow topped bottle.
I carefully split up my lavender into these three tin containers. Pier 1 sells this as a utensil holder but I saw it differently!
There are hand painted sunflower stemware wine glasses here too but they're hard to see.
The white ruffle edge bowl was from Hobby Lobby. I've been looking for one but they were always too expensive. This one was very reasonable especially at 50% off and a nice size for our petite table.
Looking back from my kitchen sink...I like it!
Now I have to re-do the front door basket!
Everything look so pretty, Liz! Love all of your white pieces. My little neighbor came over yesterday afternoon and brought me two cut sunflowers from her garden! I was just thrilled. These flowers just make you feel so happy.

ReplyDeleteI like your use of sunflowers for transitioning from summer to fall. I had never thought of it, but I think it works great!
I do so much admire your plate rack filled with sunny bright sunflower plates and enough white to keep the display as bright as a summer morning. You are so spot on right Liz, sunflowers are perfect for transitioning to Fall! I am in no mood yet to see pumpkins yet much less witches on broomsticks! Give me a vase of sunflowers and black eyed Susan's in August. I do hope you can stop by to visit my blog in the next day or so and leave a comment, I am celebrating my second blog anniversary with a fall table linens give-away and the winner will be announced Thursday on my August 20th tablescape post.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, love this look and your plate rack if gorgeous filled with your sunflower plates. Just pops against the black. Such a cozy room with the light streaming in.
ReplyDeleteGreat transition to fall.
So excited you joined in on Good Fences. I will go next and visit your posts. I am getting back to participating this week now that I am back from my time away from the computer.
Have a great new week.

Those sunflower plates are awesome. Looks pretty for Fall around the corner. The black plate rack look so good...nice contrast.
ReplyDeleteYour sunflowers are a perfect transition for August, Liz! I am not quite ready for Fall yet either. I don't think Summer is my favorite season, but I hate to give up the ease of Summer {dressing, cooking, life}. I have started to think ahead for how I might decorate for Fall this year, but I haven't put anything into action yet! : )
ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers dear Liz. I also love your breakfast area and that little shelf with the sunflower background and white plates... just lovely! Great way to transition slowly into Fall.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
FABBY
You're right, sunflowers are great for late summer into fall transition and you've done it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteLiz, I just got out my faux Sunflowers too. I love the way you used that utensil holder. So clever. All of those white pieces pop beautifully against your black shelf. The white compote on the table was such a great find. I love HL sales.
ReplyDeleteLove the sunflowers! It is cooler here this evening. I hope it stays cool. It really gets me in the mood for Fall.:-)
ReplyDeleteLiz,
ReplyDeleteThe Sunflower plates against the black shelf are stunning, dear friend!!!
Love the PoPs of white!!!
"Mr. Ed's" Sunflower Patch didn't fair well with the baby bunnies eating the seedlings;
however we do have a few Sunflowers blooming!!!
Cooler temperatures here today and for tomorrow have me in the Autumnal dreaming mood, again!!!
Fondly,
Pat
This thing ate my comment! At any rate, love your white, especially the milk bottles.
