I changed the flowers in the door basket for a late summer look.
I just posted about adding sunflowers "here" and "here" to my interior decor and wanted to stay with the cheerful golden yellow tones for this late summer display.
I kept the chevron bow I put on there in June as seen "here"
Creamy white chrysanthemums, a golden lily and golden sunflowers.
There is next to no space between this door and the storm door so I have to create these with a very thin profile.
I puffed the bow back up but as you'll see in the next picture it becomes compressed.
We have a deck that surrounds two sides and part of it is by the entry door. It's a raised ranch and I'm down on the driveway taking this on an angle. That's a big tree reflecting on the glass in case you thought the glass was dirty. Darn, when I closed the door I didn't realize the bow shifted. I'll have to fix that!

I think I like this look the best of all of your lovely door hangings! There's something about the sunflowers and mums together in the flatback basket along with the burlap bow that gives off a wonderful welcoming effect. I just remembered that I have a thin basket similar to that. I'm going to get it out and see what I can come up with! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLiz,
ReplyDeleteLove, LOVE, L O V E. . .the Sunflower front door basket, dear friend!!!
We have the same situation with our storm door!!!
I'm so~o~o short that I have to stand on a ladder to take a photo of the front door.
Otherwise, I can't see over the deck railings!!!
I adore the lilies and the mums blended with the Sunflowers!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Hi Liz, love your door basket of sunflowers, mums and lilies. So inviting for the approaching season. I have the same door color and love it. I have to think about upgrading my door urn for fall. You have inspired me!

It's perfect LIz! I have a very similar basket that I hung on my door with red, white, and blue flowers for July. I took out the blue and just left the red and white and brought it indoors for summer. It is in need of a new look soon!

So pretty. You did a great job with this arrangment. Very cheery looking.
ReplyDeleteI use a long basket on my front door, too, Liz, and I think I'll add some sunflowers to it to transition like you did. Thanks for the inspiration!! I just bought a fresh bouquet of sunflowers at the grocery store to add some cheer inside my house.
