I know that's a pretty corny title...but do you do vignettes? I love to do them and miss the blog party that was dedicated to such things a few years ago at A Stroll Thru Life called Table Top Tuesday now called Inspire Me Tuesday

I gathered a few things and filled a tray to create my vignette.

I used a couple of spoons from the old silver plate set that was always used for the family gatherings.

I found this little cutie sitting by it's lonesome at a store so I had to bring it home.

The candle holder was a new piece along with the dishes on the plate rack earlier in February when I got a chance to visit Home Goods.

I fell for them because of the floral and butterfly design. They speak spring and summer!

Strictly for fun
Speaking of fun...I'm delighted my Christmas Cactus has decided to bloom again! It's also getting buds on the other side so it will continue to bloom for a few weeks. The buds are just getting large enough to start opening but not quite there yet!

For some more fun I went to BeFunky.com and used their photo editor to create a different look of my vignette. This is called "watercolor".
My goal was to create a crisp white look in this vignette and I like how the watercolor affect turned out.

Hi Liz, your vignette is gorgeous. Love the pop of color from the apples. Yes, as a long time stager, I do vignettes all the time. Beautiful blooms on your Christmas Cactus!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and Happy St. Patrick's Day.
Hugs, CM
You are the best at vignettes! I always enjoy them so much. Good thing you rescued the little bunny plate - so cute! Lucky you, having your Christmas cactus bloom now. Mine has come and gone, was a short-bloom this year. And, you know I love your plate shelf. It's all ready for spring, just like the rest of us! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou do vignettes so well Liz! I love love the way the forsythia looks in your beautiful blue urn!
ReplyDeleteYes, I still do, I am old school too. Had to comment because my Christmas cactus is beginning to bloom now too. This is the first one out of many that has finally bloomed! Mine is on one side only but I am just thrilled! Yours is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing I rather do on a day off than flip a room, thrift shop and create a few vignettes! I love the little bunny plate he is a darling and those stopped napkings are killer ( I must have a set). Thank you for inspiring me each post you do ;)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Liz!! Love the blue and white!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for leaving such a nice comment of my post about my Transferware!
Hugs,
Deb
Liz,
ReplyDeleteYes!!! I do vignette!!!
Much like you, I "miss the blog party that was dedicated to such things a few years ago at A Stroll Thru Life called Table Top Tuesday". Seems so many linky parties are a combination of all sorts of wonderful things that I just scroll and scroll looking for home decor!!!
I adore your sweet vignette!!! The 'one~of~a~kind' bunny plate speaks volumes to me!!!
A charming Spring vignette, dear friend!!!
Thanks for the memory of what once was a weekly must in The Land of Blog.
Fondly,
Pat
I think your vignettes are very pretty and I admit...I used to love Marty's party to get/steal a lot of ideas!! lol! Thanks for a great post!

Yes, I love vignettes Liz, I keep a centerpiece, usually a tray of things, on my kitchen island always and it changes constantly. I love the way you've styled this one with the crisp blue and white palette. Your new dishes and vase of forsythia in the background are just perfect!

I love your vignette! It would match my cobalt and white kitchen perfectly! I have vignettes all over my house. They create interest and balance as opposed to a mish mash of stuff all over. I like moving my stuff all around too from one vignette to another.
ReplyDeleteYour plate rack is awesome! Beautiful dishes as well. Sorry I have been a stranger but life has taken over. Hope to be by more often. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI love the vignette especially how you added those green apples! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteLiz, I love creating vignettes as well! This is stunning and I would never have thought to add the green apples. Your eye is drawn to them and it is simply gorgeous! Thanks for sharing with SYC. I will be featuring you this week.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
I love to vignette! Yep, I use the wood as a verb. Ha. Why don't you start a vignette party for us! :-) sheila
