PYou might call this my 2nd mantel! I enjoy decorating this area which is the top of some built in cabinetry and helps divide the two rooms up from each other.
I've been building on this for a few years. First I got the sled, then last year the new reindeer at the end of the season on clearance and this year the Santa. The large glass hurricanes were on closeout from Pottery Barn and the two red candle holders were also from Pottery Barn last year and I used them on the mantel as seen "here"
I loaded it with some pine branches and collected ornaments. The sparkly garland was used one year on the dining room chandelier as seen "here" I actually used the same pieces on the chandelier minus this sparkly garland this year. I didn't even realize it until I looked back!
I found these twisty cords at Michael's that are for tying your garland onto a handrail but I thought of them for adding a little more jazz to the reindeer.
I think they are all made by the same manufacturer RAZ Imports. The tea light votives are mostly from Pottery Barn over several years of collecting a few from Michael's. I've converted to all flameless which I am enjoying.
I layered faux cranberries and a candle ring that has pine cones, beaded berries and faux pine branchs at the base of the PB candle holders. This was very time consuming and a kind of one shot deal. Once those berries were dropped in place there was no moving them!
Of course nighttime is the best and I took some pictures of it all lit up.
The big red glass sphere has been with me for several years.
This year we found some new battery operated LED lights with wiring that
is more poseable. Dan played with it and got the lights just right
which I appreciate.
I love creating atmosphere...
Morning, Liz! OH, what a gorgeous area! I love your deer and Santie! The candle lights and garland - it's just perfect and so pretty.

Beautiful display Liz. It's great you found most of those items on sale. It makes sense to do that, when some of those items are pretty expensive. Love the deer and sleigh. The hurricanes look fabulous with the candles and your added decor. Santa loves beautiful. Yes, I am familar with Raz Imports. I know you are enjoying this lovely display when it's all lit up.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty display, Liz! You've collected some great pieces! The deer and the sleigh are amazing!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, This is just wonderful and your home is gorgeous in the white with ruby touches. Love it.Your dear and Santa are beautiful. I too use the faux candles and light strands on timers. So nice to have all the lights come on throughout the house without doing a thing but stepping on the foot pedal to light the tree.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your beautiful displays. So enjoying it!
Christmas hugs
Liz, this is gorgeous! I love your collection...so elegant. I agree that the gold twisted cord adds an extra something special to the deer. The little details matter, don't they? Your husband did a very nice job with the lighting. My favorite photo is the sparkly lights ball under the two shimmery deer. Perfect!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous spot Liz, I love every part of it! I adore your lovely collection and your home looks beautiful with the reds and the white reindeers...simply wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMerry C'mas my friend.
