I'm enjoying the autumn colors that are in full swing in our yard.
My Japanese maples are in their glory- love shade of red they turn into.
Our area is at prime for colors and this will be all done shortly.
I rearranged the DECKorating a little bit. I combined two sets of the corn stalks together to make a fuller bunch and changed the lantern placements. Leaves are plentiful so I made sure some are clustered into the arrangements.
I got this cute sign from an Etsy site called Daisy Patch Primitives you can click "here" if you want to see the link.
I saw some giant signs from Grandinroad and one of them said Old Salem
Broom Co. but they were too big. Somehow I ended up on Etsy and found
this little sign which I liked even better. I found the broom at
Walmart which had just the look I wanted. I had the sign treated with an exterior clear finish so it could be outdoors.
I moved my other sign over to the wall by the back door entry.
A week ago I cut every last bloom from the Annabelle Hydrangeas. I trimmed down for
the end of the season and I gathered every single bloom and plopped them in this large empty planter. They were quite green yet but it didn't last long.
The hydrangeas have browned up quickly and I thought they'd look good over by the back door with this arrangement. I moved a few things around and you may notice my little fairy on top of the pumpkins.
She used to hang on a spring like wire but as time has passed she's lost a few pieces. I found her mixed in with one of the plants so I just gave her a new spot to set for a bit.
I have been waiting to pull out this metal pumpkin lantern. I'm finally ready to think about Halloween on the outside. I'll have to try a flameless candle in there. The tea light only lasted a few hours last night and wasn't quite big enough to give a good affect.
Looks like a witch is visiting the Olde Salem Broom Co. They're busy making more brooms and that's a good thing because we don't want to get her angry! She'll be needing a fresh broom in tip top shape for upcoming events!

Hi Liz, love the colors in your yard! This is what I miss about Michigan and the change of color this time of year. What a darling broom sign and your displays are wonderful on the deck. Perfect spot to sit on a chilly fall day with a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the scenery in your yard. Your hydrangea sure turned a beautiful fall color and looks great filling in the large urn. I cut one last bloom from my hydrangea and trying to dry it now. Not sure what the pink will turn when dry. My others turned a blueish tone with light lavender.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration on your deck. Have a great week.
XO
Your DECKorating looks awesome! I love all the vignettes and the COLOR in your yard is so beautiful! That is one tyhing I do miss, it was always SO pretty in the Fall. But I can drive by now and see it and not have to deal with the mess:):) Those brooms are great and I love the lantern. I just got a very similair one made of clay at Home Depot, today! Have a fabulous week!
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks wonderful with all the color, and I really like all your vignettes on the deck. You're giving me some great ideas. The broom and sign are so much fun. I need to check out Walmart for witchy brooms.
ReplyDeleteI was so impressed with your deck-orating last week - and now you've deck-orated even more! I adore your pumpkin lantern, and the signs are so fun. Your dried hydrangea blooms are perfect for Fall. As with all your Fall outdoor posts, I am astounded at your coloring you enjoy there. God has the best set of crayons and He knows how to use them! :-)

ReplyDeleteI love the fairy pumpkin! I'm sending that photo to my friend who is a fairy freak. She will be blown away!
I am just floored by the radiance of your Japanese maple! I have long wanted to have a couple of those. They're so pretty!
I've been dragging my feet about doing any Halloween decor, but you've given me a lot of inspiration to get the ball rollin'!!!
Liz,
ReplyDeleteThe view from your kitchen window is breathtakingly beautiful, dear friend!!!
Be nice to your resident witch. . .you're going to need many brooms to sweep all the falling leaves that accumulate around your nicely decorated deck!!!
Fondly,
Pat
