I bought this antiqued white chippy piece because the fleur de-lis iron piece grabbed my attention. I'm not a shabby chic decorator but on occasion I do like some of the look.
I really had no clue what I was going to do with it, in fact I thought about it for the kitchen or outdoors on a wall, but neither appealed to me when I got it home.
I thought for a bit and decided to see if it had any impact in the bathroom.
As soon as I walked in I noticed the pictures on the wall seemed to be very compatible.
I had a towel bar that came with this wall unit that I decided to remove. Funny thing is now I've returned to having towels here again!
This little angel was also hanging around and I couldn't resist her so she came along too. Dig the legs! The little yellow flower is a magnet so I can move it to any spot. For now she's on my robe hook. She'll probably fly off to a new spot before long so I can claim my robe hook again!
I decided to treat this like a spa basket and added a couple of towels, sponges and a handled scrubbing brush. I have extra soap that are in my apothecary jar that I blogged about "here"
I had a basket on top of the commode here but it didn't look good with this new arrangement, so I did a quick switch up. The candle was a gift sent to me last March by Betty of Betty Marie's. It was a pleasant surprise and because it had the same Royal Bee symbol on it I put it in the bathroom with my other pieces. She didn't even know I had pieces with that Royal Bee symbol so that was a double surprise! Those are bath salts in the crystal bottle.
Staring at this now I feel like something is missing!
Perhaps a tray would be nice!
Speaking of trays- check out the cute tray Maria Elena from Our Home Away from Home created with a cabinet door! So smart and a DIY project that's not too hard and yields a great result! My kind of project!

Liz, I love this piece, and it looks so pretty in your bathroom - and functional too. I would have thought you bought it specifically for this bathroom. Congrats on the feature at BNOTP. Your garden is stunning, and what a makeover that was! laurie
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeleteLove your spa basket, very pretty and looks really nice in your powder room.
Have a nice week,
Blessings, Nellie
Wait a minute! Is that a stereo system in your bathroom??!?!?!?!!! Whoa! How chic! And if you tell me there is a TV in there, too, I'm just going to faint dead away! It would be wonderful to have relaxing music (or some hard pounding rock 'n roll to wake you up in the morning!) right there in the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteI love the piece you've added! You're so right...it totally works with the artwork on the wall! Great eye! It's a really pretty look. Just a touch of shabby chic goes a long, long way!
