I lucked out and found this sweet honey pot that is a Polish Pottery piece. I included it in a post this week that you can see "here" I was in awe of the blue coloring and the design was so different from the usual Polish Pottery I usually see that I became even more intrigued by it.
What I didn't show was the Jam Jar that I also got. They make a cute set.
I posted about my little fairy garden outside "here"
See the blue bench and yellow arbor- they were copper colored but they disappear in the background so I decided they needed to be brightened up! Cutest thing too was I got to witness a fat bumble bee go through the little window of the house, buzzed around and came back out...wish I could have caught that on camera!
Last night I snipped off some flowers to bring indoors.
My peonies are blooming and I even have a late blooming lilac!
I also stuck some some perennial salvia in there with the lilacs.
The fragrance is amazing. I left this outside for a while before I brought it in because there are always some ants and spiders that suddenly come creeping out which is not cool at the dining table!!
We've had a lot of rain lately and these iris have taken a beating from it. Sometimes I stake them up to help out but they're almost done so I'll just trim them back and call it a day.
The iris in this garden are blooming away. Last night I snapped this evening shot with my iPhone. It looks like weeds are at the bottom edge, but it's actually alyssum that started on it's own from last year. It should be blooming soon.
Today it's raining and raining and raining!
My poor little Japanese Maple took a beating from the winter and is only about 1/3rd there. Not sure what I'm going to do with it.
It's raining all day here so I'm indoors! Time to catch up on some things inside!
Hi Liz, I just love your honey pot and jam jar. They do make a sweet set together. Your garden is gorgeous and the bouquet you snipped is so pretty. Enjoy the rain. I wish you could send us some. Texas really needs it. Have a great weekend.

Liz, your jam jar is a beauty too. I had somehow missed your fairy garden post, so I clicked over to see it, and I was completely enchanted. I've always thought I wanted to create a fairy garden, and with your inspiration, I may finally do it. You have so many sweet features in yours. laurie
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're getting the rain we just had here in IL. I love that honey pot, I've collected a few myself:) I know what you mean about the bugs on cut flowers. Don't ants love peonies? Oh well, it's still worth it to bring them in, I say! xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, sweet little honey pot with a great color of blue. Your iris are looking good even if a few are laying over. Windy and rain always play havoc on flowers. Hope you had time to enjoy them before the rains worked on them.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this post. :) I love, love the honey pot and jam jar you got. I've always liked Polish pottery, and these are some of the pretties pieces I've seen. My favorite is the honey pot (love the bee handle). Your cut peonies are lovely, and so are your irises. Your Japanese maple might come back if you don't give up on it. My mom has about a dozen Gardenias, and they all looked dead this spring with totally brown leaves. Her yard man told her not to pull them up, and sure enough, they're covered with green foliage now. It was a rough winter everywhere this year, it seems.
I hope you have a good weekend!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Hi Liz, love both your honey and jam pots! Cute pair indeed. My Peonies, Lilacs, and even Salvia have finished blooming. Just cut my Salvia back in hopes of a second bloom. Your arrangement looks lovely! I would trim all of the dead off of your Japanese Maple. I think you'll be amazed at how it bounces back.

Nice finds in the honey pot and jam jar. I haven't gotten out lately to find anything fun. Hope to kick this darn cold soon. Your yard looks lovely. I hope the weather doesn't destroy the pretty blooms. We wait so long to see the lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteLove the honey pot and jam jar. Cute! I hope the rain stops there. We just returned home after a beach weekend, and it is pouring here. xo
ReplyDeleteLiz,
ReplyDeleteThe honey and jam pots are adorable, dear friend!!!
Ramble all you want, dear friend!!!
I feel as if I'd just opened a letter from one of my three Pen Pals

What a find! I just stambled upon your post after looking for a Polish pottery honey pots available to buy online lol. As it happens these beauties are made in Boleslawiec, a lovely Polish town I was born in ;). I enjoyed your post even further, after seeing your little fairy garden - as I am currently planning on creating one, too! So double bonus - thank you for making my day! x
