Liz from Rose Vignettes mentioned Roses and Honeysuckle for the flowers of the month so I added a little bit of Honeysuckle to the arrangement, although mine are just about done.
I cut some Spiraea, ferns and clematis from the woods and my garden.
I added this lidded tea cup with a lilac design on it that I got from Mackinac Island several years ago. They have the Lilac Festival going on on Mackinac Island right now!
There were just a few pieces left that I bought. I'm not really a hot tea drinker except when I have a cold, but I thought it was pretty and unique so I had to have it.
I think she said that this was the last of the china like this made for their store, and there wouldn't be anymore.
I potted up some violas that I hope to keep going all summer. I just love them- such sweet faces!
I used this MacKenzie Childs watering can that I ordered on one of those clearance sales they have on their web-site a couple of years ago.
(Excuse the messy deck- the stain wears off from the drip line on the house- we haven't had a chance to destain yet)

It is so gorgeous, Liz. I absolutely love your arrangement and the columbine in there is so pretty. I love your lilac piece, too. My daughters used to go to Mackinac every year for the lilac festival...until they got married and had kids....lol...
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful time in your garden this weekend- xo Diana

Lovely flowers & china. I can't wait until my Hydrangea are huge and don't mind cutting some of the blooms for inside. Right now I'm not ready to give them up in my yard. :) Have a nice weekend Liz.

Your bouquet is beautiful. I love the addition of the fern fronds. I'm definitely going to have to try to plant some. Your header is stunning, and I love the dragonfly shown in your previous post. I'm not sure my comments are posting. laurie
ReplyDeleteCharming....and clever.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!! I would love to have a woodland garden. These 100 + days are frying everything! Love the scent of Honeysuckle and Roses, actually I love anything scented, but Honeysuckle brings back memories of Mom's garden :)

Liz, your arrangement is beautiful! There is nothing I like better than a mixed arrangement...so casual and relaxed. The spirea branches look so pretty leaning over the watering can.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeleteYou deck looks like a lovely spot for a little break. I would love to join you! :)
Love that darling watering can too. You did great job of pulling together a sweet little vignette. Thank you for joining in and sharing this fun post on Fresh-Cut Friday!

Liz, I just love your fresh bouquet! I never think about cutting my spirea and honeysuckle :-) Treasure that gorgeous lilac teacup.
ReplyDeleteLiz, fresh cut flowers from the garden always make such a pretty arrangement! My Spirea is through, but I love it's trailing blooms. The teapot is gorgeous! How fun would it be to attend a Lilac festival? So happy to have you join SYC.

Honeysuckle has always been one of my absolute favorites! I can still smell it in the air from my childhood summers in Pennsylvania. I also love the ferns, they add some nice contrast and texture. I am a big tea drinker so I love that teacup, so unique! xo KATHLEEN
