I want to wish all you Mother's out there a very Happy Mother's Day!
We'll be staying home and probably go out for dinner. As I've aged I
appreciate dining out so there's not so much work involved to
enjoying the day!
Another reason we're staying home instead of going to see our Mom's is to keep a eye on our beloved cat Riley. He's been diagnosed with a serious illness so we're watching over him.
I'm feeling nostalgic and dug out some pictures from the past.
1963 Vacation. Mom on the left, me with my shorts hiked up, sister Jen next to me and our favorite Aunt Lavina. I'm guessing we're at the shore of Lake Superior. My dear Aunt was petrified of going in a lake and anything above the ankles made her miserable!
Mom and I - approx. 1978 and every one's favorite uncle Ray (dad's brother) Aunt Lavina's husband.

a bouquet we all gave her

My daughter is a tiny little thing! I was once...that's all we'll say about that!
Love to all of you on Mother's Day and always!
Have a great Mother's Day weekend, Liz! Sorry to hear about your cat.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your family pictures! So many wonderful memories come rushing back during this time of year. Hope you enjoy your day no matter how you spend it and I hope your cat recovers soon! Happy Mother's Day, Liz!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, Love your family pics and memories of wonderful times together. What a beautiful family you are. Sweet pic of you and your daughter last year.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your cat. I so hope Riley gets better soon. Our fur babies are family members too and we worry about them just the same.
Wishing you a special and relaxing Mother's Day.
Sending hugs!
Beautiful post! Happy Mother's Day, Liz!
ReplyDeleteI love that shot of you and Chelsea, and from the pictures I've seen when you were small, your face hasn't changed much since you were little. I can pick you out in every one of them! I'm so sorry about your sweet Riley. I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day!! Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove the family photos! I am sorry that Riley is not well. That is always such a worry, to have to leave them when they're sick. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Aunt Lavina! I don't want to step into ANY large body of water for ANY reason EVER!!! Ramon & I were standing on rocks at the shore of the Atlantic Ocean during the horrible tsunami some years back. At that time we had no idea there was a deadly tsunami going on. It was raining sheets and the wind was blowing fiercely, but Ramon had it in his head that I HAD to stand on the shore since we were there at Tybee Island. When we found out the next day what had happened to so many people, I PUNCHED him as hard as I could. I could have been swept into the ocean and died out there!!! So Aunt Lavina and I are cut from the same cloth!
ReplyDeleteI hope Riley is comfortable. Keep me posted, and take care! Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day, Liz. Sorry to hear about your kitty cat. xo
ReplyDeleteOh how I love this. So many memories of a life, and date, embedded in love and cherishing.
ReplyDeleteBest way to remember dates and people, if you ask me.
Chelsea is gorgeous and she favors you. Striking Beauty that I'm sure is piling on her own memories with you.
I'm sorry to read about Mr. Riley. Take care Dear Friend!
Hi Liz,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family you have, and what special memories. You made me chuckle at your comment about your daughter....my daughter is tiny too and I am not LOL, once upon a time in a far away land I was once like her......
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
I loved seeing all the pics of you and your beautiful family. Great photo of you and Chelsea, too.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Riley isn't doing well. He's gorgeous! Being Siamese, i'll bet he talks a lot.
What fun to look at old pictures, what a great photograph of all of you at the lake. Pretty ladies! You and your sister were cuties and so is your daughter! Sorry to hear your little Riley is ill.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening!
Nancy
