Boy the sun has been just shining like crazy today
and I couldn't be happier!
Sitting here in my office admiring that blue sky and sun!
I got to thinking about springtime, apple and cherry blossoms and then I saw a picture with some white orchids. I remembered that I had a bunch of silk orchid pieces in storage.
I divided them up and filled these pedestal vase containers.
I bought them at Pier 1 many years ago. They've been in and out of my decorating several times.
I just looked at their web page and I see they have them in again. Oncidium Orchid
Too bad I can't open the window for fresh air! It's actually only 19 degrees right now and it was -6 this morning!
No matter....I'm loving the sun!
The roses I showed you in my Romantic Vignette with Roses post the other day are at their best and I've prepared a new
tablescape with them! I'll be back with that soon!

It may be 19 degrees outside, but it looks warm and cozy in your living room. Beautiful vases and orchids on your mantel. Pretty roses too. Looking forward to seeing your tablescape with them.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel with the orchids is so very pretty. I wish spring would hurry and I may follow you and just bring spring inside! Stupid groundhog anyways!
ReplyDeleteI love the vases and orchids. I am ready for Spring too!
ReplyDeletePier 1 has some really great faux flowers! I love to get them when they're on clearance. At full price they're out of my league, but on clearance...aces!!! Always so pretty and many are very realistic. You did a beautiful job of arranging them here. You've got that mantel lookin' all "Downton Abbey"!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe hit somewhere around 19 or 20 today, and we actually DID open a couple of windows!!! We must be out of our minds! With the sun shining and those relatively warm temps, it just seemed like the thing to do! The house needed airing out after I left the waffle iron on a bit too long the other day.
Oh...Ramon was home today, so he attempted to get that ice & snow off the overhang that caused that stain on the kitchen ceiling. He did a pretty good job, but he can't do any other area. We found out today from a newscast (just has to wait a couple of days for the answer!) that you can just call a roofing company to come out and get that ice & snow off. It costs a pretty penny, but nothing compared to what it would cost to replace the whole dang roof. So thank you for that article...it really helped Ramon out a lot!
How lovely! And boy do I love that picture above the mantle. (mantel?)
ReplyDeleteLove the orchids in your vases! Very beautiful room.~~Angela
ReplyDeleteOh your view is gorgeous...I love seeing the beautiful snow against a clear blue sky...love the orchids on the mantel...we all need a touch of Spring!
ReplyDeleteI have that painting in my bedroom and will always LOVE it. So romantic. Your mantle looks lovely.
ReplyDeletePart of the fun of decorating is changing things out. Your home looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit.

Any touch of flowers sure lifts the spirits. The white ones are perfect in your stunning vases. The red roses are so rich and vibrant. I am glad they have lasted!
ReplyDeleteLiz, I love that sunshine too! We are suppose to be almost 60 degrees on Saturday. Crazy! I know I will love it though. Your roses are stunning and the faux orchids are beautiful!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
