I created the tablecloth from some yard goods I picked up.
I centered the roses even though they will have to be removed for dining. While I created this I was thinking about one of those high end restaurants that offer private settings for dining.
I chose these floral dessert dishes for a bread plate. There is a small hummingbird on them too. I layered them on the gold and red banded dishes that I use for the holidays.
I stacked two chargers together, one gold on the very bottom, the other is a dark espresso wood to help create more definition between the plates and the tablecloth.
The roses filled out nicely
A little champagne and candlelight
Some jewelry to suggest a gift has been given
and a little chocolate to go with the decaff coffee before the dessert.
Romance is in the air....
Wishing you a lovely Valentine's Day!

Very pretty. I love the salad (or dessert?) plates!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Much nicer than going out, that's for sure! We went out to a fancy restaurant only once for V-day many years ago and it was so crowded, overpriced and slow we've never done it again. Guess everyone thinks they should go "out" that night, but your table setting looks much more romantic and cozy to me:)

That 1978 John Paul Young song "Love Is In the Air" is going to be in my head all day now! That's OK...I LOVE that song! And I LOVE this tablescape, Liz!!! You really brought romance in a big way! The china is exquisite....the gorgeous gold band is perfect!
ReplyDeleteHooray for romance! Enjoy your Valentine's Day!!!!!

ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine’s Day.............
How romantic this is, Liz. I love that vase - such a unique shape. The square salad plates are such a perfect touch with your elegant dinner plates. This is much better than a fancy restaurant. I read on the internet that today (13th) is Galentine's Day, when you send love to your "gal" friends, so Happy Galentine's Day. laurie
ReplyDeleteA beautiful table, and could easily be part of the decor of an elegant restaurant. I love your red plates, and you've shown them off well with you choice of chargers and other plates. So very well done, and so romantic! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

I really love this table. The vase with the glass pedestal, is that all one piece?...so pretty and the gold flatware!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful table....Happy Valentines Day!
The vase and glass pedestal are two separate pieces. The glass piece comes from Wisteria.com They call it a glass riser.
