Saturday morning I was enjoying my morning coffee and the sun beamed in on my Annabelle Hydrangeas. I tiptoed out on the deck in my pj's to snap a shot.
They're still flowering nicely and haven't turned yet.
Of course I had to move down to the driveway level and take another
shot so I decided to make it a group shot.
I always wonder if my neighbor sees me and thinks I'm a nut!
Fall is settling in but my gardens are still plugging along. As soon as we get a frost it will all change.
Speaking of fall I had to take a shot of this maple tree that is starting to turn. It's quite a contrast to my garden areas that are still green!
I just love seeing these colors.
Too bad it doesn't last longer!
I recently cut some branches from my
Limelight Hydrangea shrubs.
I let them drink the water in the vase but I don't
add anymore to it. They should dry nicely.

Wow! Your garden is gorgeous, Liz. Your flowers are so lovely and that maple tree looks magnificent. Ours has not changed color yet..Christine
ReplyDeleteYour maple tree and hydrangeas are gorgeous, Liz. We just don't have very much color yet but I'm excitedly waiting for it. I want a hydrangea bush...we have a sprout but it refuses to take off. Any suggestion, my gardening counselor?
ReplyDeleteI just love your beautiful flowers, how nice they are right outside of your deck, love the ones that you cut for the table, so lovely...Phyllis
ReplyDeleteLiz- The view from your deck is absolutely gorgeous. What a pleasure it must be to sit there and look at that! Wish I could sit there with you and drink coffee and have a few laughs...you know we would! Your hydrangeas are beautiful and they do dry nicely. I brought my own in and I think I need to spray them with some hairspray to set them. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are doing wonderful still! Everything here perks up a bit too when the weather cools down, and even the grass is happy. Your hydrangeas are beautiful and I love the maple tree - the color is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, It looks like your trees are at the same stage as ours are right now--some intense pops of color here and there, and the flowers still in bloom. Your hydrangeas are beautiful. That is the way I dry mine too. It is funny to think about the things we do to capture the perfect picture! Linda
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful garden. I've always loved hydrangeas but have never planted them as I'm unsure how they would handle the Central Texas heat. Plus, I'm now living in Malaysia for a few years where I'm fairly sure they're not even available. The colors of your maple tree are gorgeous. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, your garden really does still look so beautiful! I loved the group shot. We got a frost last night so everything is pretty much through. I will be doing a lot of cleaning up this week. The maples around here are gorgeous too. I love them for their brilliant red Fall color!I usually just let my Limelight blooms dry right on my tree. Might have to try this method. Sure make a gorgeous centerpiece. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
