Today I'm joining Kathy at The Dedicated House for Make It Pretty Monday.
I'd also like to thank Kathy for featuring a post from my blog today!
Living room focus
Centered between our two recliners I've got a pair of natural grapevine pumpkins. I added some faux silks with gourds to give the large pumpkin a little more character!
I put a battery operated candle in the bottom to help the pattern on the vase show up more...
I need a taller candle so it will do a better job!
In the background you see my silk arrangement I put together on my chest
(which stores my table linens)
Stepping around to the chest you can see it a little better. Sorry about all these pictures being taken with artificial lighting, but we're having a lot gray days and the room doesn't get real bright so I opted to do it this way.
I've got three glass candlesticks near it which do look nice in the daylight. Hmmm...after staring at this I realized I need to change those candles to my brown ones!
I selected these silks at from Hobby Lobby (I think they have a much nicer selection than Michaels) I thought the feathered pieces looked fun and had to give them a try!
I have a thing for glass pieces like this!
A T.J. Maxx frame with a picture I printed to go inside. It's a famous picture by Claude Monet called"The Artist's Garden in Argenteuil"
In the corner I've created this tabletop vignette of a sort with this very large serving tray that I've treated as a display. I've got some decorating books in it along with the finial bird pieces and my Santos Cage Doll.
She has wings but I don't keep them on her all the time. Last Christmas I decorated her bodice with a wired ribbon and I liked it so much I never took it off.
I filled the bottom with some real and faux books
I found this heavy carved looking frame at Hobby Lobby and knew it would fit into my decorating scheme immediately- in fact the other two frames are from there too.
That's my son and his bride at their wedding last year.
This copper tray was given to me by my son and daughter in-law. It's made by Wendell August. They still hand craft all their metal pieces and I love them. I've picked up a few pieces in the aluminum finish for the kitchen. They have retails stores in Ohio and Pennsylvania. When we visit our son in PA I always make a stop at their store.
That's a wrap!
Thank-you for visiting!
Liz, your arrangements are gorgeous! I am just getting Halloween put away so haven't done anything. I was making my slideshow for my blog and thought "wow, I have had some nice Fall arrangements"! Isn't it funny how the blog really is a kind of journal. Have a wonderful week!
