I saw this French printed fabric wrapped vase at Michael's and it intrigued me!
It's simplicity attracted me and with fall coming on and lots of dried grasses and flowers as possibilities-
I'm thinking it would would look charming decorated that way.
They folded the top edges in so it would have a nice finished look. They probably used some kind of spray adhesive but I'm thinking that mod-podge might do the job too!
I thought of how easy this would be to make but the fabric with the words on it would be the challenge. I wonder if there is some pre-printed fabric at JoAnn's or such?
I decided I'd share this just for the fun of it and perhaps it may inspire someone else for a project!
I think I'll make a trip to JoAnn's and see what they have! I already own a couple of those cylinder shaped vases so I'm half way there!

There IS such fabric! I have seen it as recently as Saturday! Go for it!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have written on dropcloth in this project http://frugalaintcheap.blogspot.com/2012/07/drocloth-remnant.html ...then you can use the fabric to glue it on a vase! clever :)
ReplyDeleteYou can definitely buy script fabric, or make your own. Great project idea!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good "inspiration" piece. I bet you could find some fabric like that. Burlap would always look nice also! Life to the full, Melissa
ReplyDeleteIf you already have the vases you could make them like the one you saw very inexpensively. It could also be decoupaged with script paper which probably would cost even less. Your idea of putting fall flowers or foliage in it would be very pretty.--------

I found some tea towels with lovely French script at Tuesday Morning. I think each one would make a couple of great vases.
ReplyDeleteYes- I have seen that fabric with the writing on it. It is actually on the big rolls with drapery materials. What a cute idea! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteVery pretty vase. It would look great with some dried hydrangeas in it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Liz. I have that fabric too. What a neat idea.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeleteI had that very item in my cart the other day, but ended up putting it back because I found a bunch of big candle holders on sale instead. I wish I would have purchased it, darn! You could definitely make one yourself, I thought about doing that, too! I've see similar fabric at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's. Can't wait to see what you do! XOXO ~Liz
I have seen script fabric at a few places around here. I think JoAnn has script burlap. Not sure how that would work. Fabric.com has a few different ones too.
