Yep that's my new number...
and I am proud of it!
I stopped worrying about turning older
some years ago!
I figure it this way, it's a blessing to be
alive and life is a gift so enjoy it!
I adore lemon flavored cakes...
or Lemon Meringue Pie
Argo Recipe My Mom Used perfect!
(as a child my Mom gave me the choice of either a
birthday cake or lemon meringue pie- I often chose the pie!)
I'm floating thinking about
this one (no wait, that's a sugar high)
Lemon Meringue Cake!!
Wow! (Martha Stewart)
My actual birthday is Saturday and I think a nice relaxing day is in order! We'll see what comes of the day! I'll get my "lemon" Birthday treat from my sister when I see the family for Easter!
March babies and those turning
55 (or already have) like me!
Spring has sprung and I think that's one of the best reasons I always enjoyed having been born in March!
Easter is right around the corner and life is bursting out everywhere once again!
I Love it!
Hope your weekend is great!
I know I'm going to enjoy mine!
I'd like you all to welcome my friend Betty- She's started a blog this week...please check out her link and welcome her aboard!

Happy, happy birthday, Liz! You're Aries, like so many of my friends. Have a fabulous day doing whatever you want and enjoy your lemon dessert. I am a couple of years older than you, and I share the same age philosophy as you do. All the best, and I am happy to know you through Blogland. xo
ReplyDeleteFINALLY!!! A picture of that pretty little face of yours!!!!!!!!!!! Hooray! And hooray for your birthday! I was going to wait until tomorrow, but I'll go ahead and start early with the celebration! You're a Spring chicken, girl! Go on and burst out like those daffodils and hyacinth and tulilps! It's a new day, a new year, a new life!!! Seriously, if you don't go out somewhere and just kick your heels up high as a Rockette, I'm going to drive up there and beat you up! Put on something that shows off "the girls" just a little bit, paint your lips a sultry red, tease that hair up like Snookie, and get your little hips on out there to party!!!!!!! Start the day off with a mimosa (or two!) to get you in the mood! It's your birthday, so no one will scold you for drinking before noon! Ha! The sun just came out as I wrote this. It has been gloomy & cloudy for four straight days, so that HAS TO BE a sign that it's right for you to do as I just said!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More to come........
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Liz!! Enjoy your special day and kick your feet up, you deserve it! =) xo ~Liz
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Liz...I'm a March baby too. I just turned 53 and I couldn't agree more with what you said about getting older. We are very lucky to have our health and a good life. Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday dear Liz! That cake looks awesome. What's in the age, nothing, it's only how young we feel! Lots of hugs and enjoy your birthday weekend.

ReplyDeleteGosh, so sorry I haven't stopped by sooner... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZ!! Hope you have the most wonderful, joyous, fun-filled birthday ever! Now keep the celebrating going all week, birthdays must last at least that long. The ladies in my family have always lied so much about their age, my grandmother has the wrong birthdate on her tombstone. I love how you have embraced it, better getting a year older than the alternative, right??? Wish I could share a hunk of something lemony with you!! Have fun!!

I, too, am a lemon lover & get pie for my birthday every year for as long as I can remember. Thanks for the link to the one your Mom made...I shall try it next time.

Hi Liz, I'm so glad I came to visit because I discovered that you just had your birthday. I hope it was the best ever, and I am so glad to get to know you through blogging. And that meringue cake looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful birthday Liz! Sorry I missed it. Was doing taxes from last Thursday through Sunday for many hours. Still working on putting it all together, mailing and waiting to hear from the accountant. Oy. Am always glad when it's all done and mailed off to the IRS and State. Hope your birthday was fun and you had a great celebration!
