Happy Valentines Day!
Welcome to my
Whimsical Valentine Birthday table!
I've got two birthdays and Valentines
Day all within 7 days of each other!
Today is hubby's birthday so I made
his favorite German Chocolate Cake
I used a 6" cake pan and made
3 layers
Cupid has landed and is taking
a brief rest...All of his romantic
hearts and jewels are scattered
about
and he's content to rest
among them.
This red ankle boot is
decked out with shiny baubles
I used tissue paper to fill in the
boot and help highlight it's shape
and to hide a small vase for
the flowers
Baby's Breath, White Tulips
and Red Roses
A mercury glass stemmed candle holder
adds a little romance and glitz
I used my ruby red water
goblets with my crystal wine
glasses from Mikasa
Some whimsically printed napkins
folded under a clear salad plate that is
surrounded with fanciful glass marbles
This Baroque flatware from
Neiman Marcus adds to the romantic
ambiance...I love the delicate edge
on these Ralph Lauren Sophia
dishes (found them at T.J.Maxx)
I wanted to keep this a bit delicate and to keep the softness of the whites
going, so I chose not to use a charger
or a placemat.
The table runner was from Home Goods
I folded it in the center to shorten it and used the square mirror to hide the fold.
The tablecloth was from T.J.'s last year.
It's simple, a little whimsical
and a touch romantic!
Hmm...I forgot to put out
the wine!
Daylight has slipped away and
it's time for dinner... can't wait
to try the cake!
Thanks for visiting!

Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet Liz!!! I'm sitting here listening to a little Frank Sinatra tonight. "Come Rain or Shine" is playing right now. Just think how romantic that would be as a backdrop to your beautiful table! You and your hubby taking a spin around the living room floor, laughing, just taking a trip down memory lane to "the good ol' days" when life was simpler...girl, you have evoked all of this! That boot is fabulous, and you REALLY rocked it by adding the tissue to hide your mechanics! Very clever!!! Your flowers are fabulous and work so well with what you have put together. Please wrap the flatware carefully and send it directly to me! :-) As for the cake, even though I don't care for chocolate (I know...I'm crazy!), I do like to indulge in a slice of German chocolate heavily covered in that rich, decadent coconut-pecan icing about once or twice a year. I hope you and hubby enjoy it! Eat a piece for me!!!
ReplyDeleteLiz, what a beautifully romantic setting! Love the floral arrangement in that fabulous red boot!! You have outdone yourself!! And that German Chocolate cake looks amazing! Hope that the hubby has a great birthday!! This is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the boot! I have purple ones for Halloween and a red one for Christmas and saw this one and a pink one and almost had them jump into my cart. Now I wish I had let it! I love your 6" cake. That makes for such a pretty size for the table and it has my favorite frosting smothering it too. Have an enjoyable time celebrating the birthdays.
ReplyDeleteThat little cake is darling -- and German Chocolate is my husband's favorite, too! I love your runner -- it really sets the tone for the whole table. I really like the way the whole placesetting looks -- charming!
ReplyDeleteLovely! The white cloth is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed the cake!
What a beautiful table! I especially love the flowers in the boot, set off by the mercury glass candle holder. A very romantic Valentine birthday table! That cake looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz!
ReplyDeleteI am loving the centerpiece you put together! Your linens are so pretty, and those plates are gorgeous. If that cake tasted half as good as it looks, I'm sure your husband is a happy man!
Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing love your table, the cake looks wonderful,
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, how romantic and sweet!! That red ankle boot is just adorable, very creative using the tissue paper to hide the vase, it all turned out just perfect. I've gone crazy over little cherubs lately, don't know if they've hit me with their arrow or what, but your little guy is divine. Ok, tablecloth and runner are so pretty with your theme, and the flatware and RL dishes are just soooo beautiful! OOOh and ahhhh, love them. That cake looks so yummy, not sure if I would need anything else. You guys have a great time, have a glass of wine for me, and enjoy that beautiful setting!!!
ReplyDeletePretty as a Picture! The table for two is great with your red heart runner and napkins. The perfect piece is the red high top boot container with the red roses arrangement. Happy Tea Party! Pam
ReplyDeleteWOW Liz Just gorgeous! Hope you and your honey have a wonderful Valentines day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThe red ankle boot is right down my alley. Love it! Happy birthday Dan...also happy Valentine's day.
ReplyDeleteYour table reeks of romance and Love. Looks like a wonderful cake too.
Oh I just love the boot on your table! Your red and white table looks like a delightful Valentine's dining spot.
ReplyDeleteThis is just the best! You have a eye, that's for sure. Very romantic, but not tooooo mushy. Very pretty, but not toooooo girlie that a man wouldn't want to sit at the table.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog. I'll be back.
