Last year I found this "bowling ball" sized brown ornament but it proved to be a challenge as to where
I was going to use it. It ended up on a tray with a mix of ornaments, candles and a vase on my dining table.
This year I wanted to try something
different plus I didn't want to take up the
center of the table with an arrangement
(that turned out to be so heavy it couldn't
be moved without tearing it apart).
So this year I set a wreath on the coffee
table and used a pedestal bowl
with some gold tinsel to set
it on. I took a couple of ornaments
and tied them to the end of the
ribbon so it kind of dangles
off the side.
Last year my this angel was on
the mantel but since she
was replaced by two new angels
I decided to include her in this vignette
The bowl has a carved look with gold
highlights that are hard to see.
I added some more of the ornaments
that I used on the ribbon
to lay around the wreath.
Between the two recliners I made another
vignette up using a green and silver
striped scarf to help incorporate
the silver into the setting.
This was a new find this year and
because of the mercury look and
the Fleur-de-lis pattern I was
immediately drawn to it.
I used pine cones to lay in the bowl
and to raise the ornament a bit.
Again I used the ribbon to tie
a couple of smaller ornaments on
(One clear and one gold)
Last year I was struck with the
mercury glass fever and bought
several candle votives with that
finish. I was glad to see it back
so strong this year again!
That round candle dish is new
from Pottery Barn this year.
It has such a heavenly scented
smell- I just love it!
I found some lovely pillows at
Pier 1 Imports too...
They have sparkle in them and all
the right colors for my home!
This one was on sale 20% off.
You have to keep checking these
places out for their sales!
I've got a couple more things to show
you but I'll do that next time!
As always, thank-you for stopping
by and I love to hear your comments!
This room is really pretty...I love all your touches. The Pier 1 pillows are perfect!
ReplyDeleteLiz, your room is beautiful! I love your bowling ball ornaments! Your tree looks gorgeous! It all looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteLiz, your whole room looks so beautiful and warm...and of course, festive!
ReplyDeleteYou festive decor is so very lovely! The new pillows are wonderful! Thank you for your kind visit and thoughts! The Frazer tree is uncommon here in the Pacific NW...in fact my father in law grew them as an experiment and has decided that they don't do well in our climate. We cut the one that looked the best! Next year we'll have a noble which is more common in our neck of the woods. Merry Christmas to you!
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes and Blessings,
Amanda
Hilarious reference to a bowling ball!!!! I have a bunch of those in different colors, and they are fabulous for decorating. I love what you did with them both last year AND this year. The way you tied a smaller ornament to the end of the bigger one is really unique! The bowl you have the brown one in is really cool, too. I can see the gold design on it perfectly! You are runnin' away with the decorating, woman!!!!!! :-) I'm still pluggin' along........
